LEGACY
In
the 60s hand tools were still hand made by metal workers who were
involved in solving technical problems in factories: designing, building
machines, making tools and facilities. My grandfather was one of those
artists of metal.
As he is turning ninety, and I am turning forty, I
am finally recognising his legacy as an archaic craftsmanship and an
authoritative father.
These still lifes are not only portraits of
his skilfulness, but the process of its recognition itself, emphasised
by the use of the lightpainting technic, which linger on every detail as
a form of meditation.
